About EWGA

About the Association

Seeking to level the playing field with male colleagues they saw entertaining clients and closing deals on the golf course, a group of 28 business women attended a new golfer clinic in 1991 in West Palm Beach, FL.

It was a modest start, but a powerful premise, and EWGA caught on quickly as fledging chapters were founded across the country during the early 1990s.

Today, the Association has more than 20,000 members in more than 120 chapters throughout the United States and Canada. There's even a chapter in France!

While many women come to EWGA hoping to add golf to their portfolio of business skills, many others join for the sheer enjoyment of the game and the opportunity to make lasting friendships with others who share their passion for golf.

While most of what we do takes place within our local Chapter, we're proud to be members of an Association that is widely recognized and respected by the golf industry as THE voice for women's golf.

In recent years, the EWGA has partnered with golf's leading organizations - the PGA of America, the LPGA, the USGA, the PGA TOUR, and the World Golf Foundation - to help grow the game of golf and increase appreciation for the value women bring to it.

Mission. Connecting women to learn, play, and enjoy golf for business and for fun.

Vision. Enriching the lives of women through the game of golf.

Core Values. The EWGA believes in and conducts itself according to the values embodied by the game of golf - honesty, integrity, respect, honor, sportsmanship, fun, and friendship. In addition, we believe in and support:

  1. Inclusivity and diversity - golf is for all
  2. Golf as an important asset for women in business
  3. Volunteer service
  4. Mentoring and support for new golfers
  5. Advancement of skills for all golfers
  6. Making a difference for women's golf
  7. Professionalism in our operations and relationships
our chapter

The Cincinnati Chapter was founded in 1995 and welcomes women golfers-and those interested in learning the game -- from around the tri-state area.

Our current membership of about 200 includes women of all ages and playing abilities, from all walks of life. Most of us do work, but only some of us are executives, and being one is not a membership criteria.

What we have in common is golf. We've come to EWGA for opportunities to play more and to learn and improve our game. What we've found is a chance to meet new playing partners and make new and lasting friendships.

We play at courses all around the Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area in weeknight leagues, weekend outings and special golf events and competitions. We learn in clinics and seminars geared for different skill levels and interests. We get together socially, we're involved in community support activities, and we network with each other.

Above all, we have fun! We're not country-club stuffy and we're not high pressure. You play and participate at your level, in a relaxed and welcoming environment.
