Get involved
our chapter

Like all EWGA chapters around the country, ours runs on volunteer power.

Although we get considerable guidance from Association headquarters, we're responsible for planning, organizing and running all of our leagues, golf and social events, clinics and other activities.

Fortunately, we're an enthusiastic, energetic, resourceful group of women, many of whom generously offer their time and talent to ensure the best possible membership experience for everyone.

We're always on the lookout for Chapter leaders -- members willing to serve on our board as officers or committee chairs. But even if you don't have the time or inclination for board membership, you could still help us tremendously by volunteering to be a committee member -- or to just to help out from time to time.

Please consider volunteering
It's a great way to get connected, give back and make great friends along the way. The extent of your commitment is entirely your call -- whatever time and talent you can spare will be greatly appreciated!

Member Recognition Program
In 2008, the Chapter introduced a recognition program to encourage members to participate and volunteer. Throughout the year, members earn points for participating in Chapter activities and for volunteering. Points are tallied at year-end and used to identify and celebrate leading points-earners.

It's no secret that the game of golf is a passion that touches our lives in many ways. In addition to EWGA, there are many other ways to get involved and be rewarded by the game. In that spirit, we'll do our best to keep you informed about local golf organizations, events and opportunities that might be of interest.

EWGA and its members have no obligation to these organizations and events, but if you do choose to support or participate with them, let them know you're an EWGA member. And don't forget to share your EWGA experience with new acquaintances and your new experience with EWGA friends!

The First Tee. This non-profit youth development program uses the game of golf to teach kids life skills and core values. Volunteers and donations needed!

Girls Golf U. We’re proud to support this Hamilton County Parks District pilot program for girls, 12-17, who play or aspire to play team golf. The 2010 GGU is a series of five clinics—each one hour of instruction followed by 30 minutes with an inspirational guest speaker. The June 8 clinic will be led by LPGA FUTURES Tour players in town to compete in the Teva Championship. Flyer.

Teva Championship. Formerly known as the Duramed Championship, this Cincinnati stop on the LPGA's developmental Duramed FUTURES Tour is our chance to support these young pros. Volunteers, pro-am players and spectators are needed!

Play the Teva ProAm! In appreciation for EWGA Cincinnati’s support in prior years, tournament organizers have donated a “team” of three playing spots in the 2010 Teva ProAm. Each spot is valued at $600! The Chapter is using the spots to raise funds to purchase tournament admission tickets for Girls Golf U (see above) participants and to use as prizes and gifts for Chapter volunteers and members.

Now through May 27, you can purchase entries into our Teva ProAm drawing for just $25 each. To purchase multiple chances, simply increase your quantity at registration. Three winners will be drawn at random and notified on Friday May 28.

Winners will decide as a team whether to play Wed (June 9) or Thur (June 10). Each team of three amateurs will be paired with an LPGA Futures Tour professional. Play begins at 8 a.m. Each ProAm participant is invited to a Wed evening Meet the Pros party, receives breakfast, lunch and a goodie bag on the day they play, and two Good-Any-One- Day tickets to the Teva Championship Fri-Sun, June 11-13.

Dress for Success Cincinnati. This organization works to solve the "catch 22" that confronts disadvantaged women seeking to enter the workforce: Without a job, how can you afford a suit? But without a suit, how can you get a job? In our inaugural fundraiser, held in conjunction with our 2010 Spring Outing, Chapter members donated a carload of great suits and other apparel/accessory needs and more than $1,000 in cash!

networking & social events

In addition to our annual Tee Off Brunch (March) and Holiday Party (December), members and prospects are invited to get together informally for no-host Happy Hours and other ad hoc events throughout the year. Check our Calendar for listings.
