2010 Season Tees Off!
More than 100 returning and prospective members braved
a rainy morning March 13 to kick off the Chapter's new season at our
annual Tee Off Brunch at the Madison in Covington.
Enjoying mimosas
and a delicious buffet, attendees previewed our 2010 season and took
advantage of early-bird league registration.
Also on hand were
sponsors Golf Chic Boutique (which brought the store to
the floor and offered us great deals!) and Hamilton County Parks
District (whose teaching pros donated free lessons for a special
drawing!).
Thanks to Social
Chair Sally
VonGundy and her team for a great event!

Golfpalooza
On the heels of
March Madness, our Chapter's own "Sweet Sixteen" were in
Pinehurst last week for EWGA's "Golfpalooza"...formerly
known as the Annual Conference.
Cincinnati's
contingent was larger than any other Chapter's and made quite an impression --
especially as they represented the Queen City in these marvelously
masqued red-and-black ensembles for Thursday night's
Partypalooza!
The four-day
conference included lots of golf and EWGA camraderie, and a chance to
meet Annika Sorenstam, who received EWGA's 2009 Leadership Award at
Saturday's Awards Gala.

pix coming soon to the Photo Gallery.]

League
Registration Update
We're happy
to report Blue Ash (Tues), Reeves and Vineyard (Tues) leagues are
full, but there are still openings in all the others -- some of which
have deadlines coming up: Glenview
(Apr 16); The
Mill (Apr 19); Aston
Oaks (Apr 19).
Don't miss out on a
league experience this season! Register now for
any of those three or others that are still open: Avon Fields, Blue Ash
(Fri), Circling Hills, Kenton County, and Meadow Links.
If
your first choice league is full, add your name to Wait List and/or
sign up as a League Sub. The sooner we can seen what our needs are,
the more quickly we can approach the courses to see about adding or
giving up tee times to try to accommodate everyone!

A new program aimed at filling
the instructional and inspirational gap for 12-17-year-old girls who
aspire to play middle school, high school and/or college
golf is being piloted by Hamilton County Parks District --
with help from EWGA Cincinnati.
Led
by PGA Teaching Pro Melissa Yeazell at Meadow Links & Golf
Academy, the 2010 Girls Golf U program is a series of one-hour
instructional clinics followed by a half-hour talk/Q&A with a
role-model woman from the community.
EWGA
was instrumental in arranging for one of the clinics to be
held the week of the Teva Championship with instruction and
inspiration coming from a group of Teva players. Chapter support
also will include volunteer opportunities and fundraising to purchase
tickets for Girls Golf U participants to attend the Teva
Championship. Click
