Excitement is building at chapters around the country
as the first round of the EWGA Championship is (or soon will be)
getting underway!
For us, it
begins Sunday, June 21, with our Cincinnati Chapter Championship
tournament at Heatherwoode Golf Course in Springboro.
All the info
is now on our Web site, with a convenient link on the home
page. In addition to eligibility stipulations (detailed on the
official entry form), here are two important points of
information about participating:
- You
must have an eligible handicap that includes at least two
18-hole rounds (or four 9-hole rounds) played since our 2009
active season opened March 25 and posted by May 26.
- Completed
entry forms, along with payment, must be received by June 2.
To register, you must use the official EWGA
Championship entry form, but you have two payment options:
Option #1. Print and
complete the form and mail with your check.
Option #2. Pay by
credit card on the Web site and mail or email the completed entry
form to Sue Brewer.
Detailed instructions, including mailing/email
addresses, are on the form and info flyers.

Ever wished you had a pro at your side who could help
you get out of trouble or make the smart shot?
Your wish can come true at our Playing with a Pro
education event at The Mill course Saturday, May 30!
Each foursome
will play nine holes with a PGA golf pro who will answer
your questions and help with course management as you play.
The format is
a scramble, but with a twist. Rather than playing the
group's best shots, we'll be choosing the most
'interesting' shots -- the ones we could all use help executing
correctly.
We've opened
this event up to non-members, so bring along a guest. (If you're
treating, select quantity and enter guest name(s) in online
registration screens; if not, guests are welcome to create an account
on our Web site and register themselves). Register by Sunday, May
24.
ALSO:
Intermediate Clinic Series
We still have openings in the second offering of our How Low Can You Go
clinic series. The four lessons are on consecutive
Tuesday evenings beginning May 19 at Meadow Links. Register by May
12.

Chair Terri Campbell.

Subbing
is a great way to get to know other members and try out
different courses. If you haven't joined a league this season,
please take advantage of this easy, inexpensive opportunity to
participate in EWGA!
As a sub,
you'll receive an email letting you know subs are
needed that week. Sub spots are filled on a
first-come-first-served basis, so respond quickly if you can
play. Leagues have different ways of handling the sub fee payment,
but that info will be included in the email.
You're welcome
to sign up to sub at as many leagues as you'd like, and doing so
gives you more options to play! And remember, the sub program is
also a big help to league members, who can recover a
portion of their league fee for weeks they cannot play.
With the
exception of Blue Ash (where non-members are welcome to sub if
accompanied by an EWGA member), you must be a member to sub.
To sign up
select Leagues from the REGISTER tab and use the "sign up as a
sub link." Don't forget to enter the name(s) of the leagues you
want to sub in!!
The Vineyard
I league (Tuesdays, 5:40 start, adv.) still has
openings. League begins May 26. Register now!

The annual EWGA Championship is the largest women's
amateur tournament in the world. And as an eligible EWGA
member, you can be part of it- regardless of your skill level.
Three rounds...
(1) The Championship begins at the Chapter level (ours is
Sunday, June 21).
(2) Winners there advance to a semifinal regional
tournament, competing for a spot in the field at (3) the
final national event -- this year Sept 25-26 at the PGA
Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, FL.
Two ways to play!
You can compete in individual stroke
play, which is flighted so you're only playing against
golfers of the same skill level. Or, you can participate on a
four-member scramble team.
Either way, it's an experience not to be missed. Learn more.

"Kodak" Moments
Don't forget to put your digital camera in your golf bag
and get some shots during league play this season. Email photos
(identified with league name and date) to Communications Chair Gale Wallmark and we'll post
them on the Web site Photo
Gallery.

Duramed Help
 Volunteers are
needed for the LPGA Futures Tour Duramed Championship, which comes to
the Grizzly at Kings Island the week of June 15.
The Duramed final round conflicts with our Chapter
Championship June 21, but there's lots of assistance needed before that
and you can specify dates you're available to help.
Especially needed are housing hosts for the players, which
is a great way to get to know a future LPGA pro!
From the GET INVOLVED tab, select Our Community for a link to
the Duramed Championship Web site.
